Thordon Bearings has hired Anthony Hamilton as its new technical director.
Reporting on to CEO Anna Galon, Hamilton will lead Thordon’s engineering, CAD and new product improvement teams.
“We are delighted to welcome Tony to the Thordon household as we look to strengthen the company’s product portfolio in current and new markets,” stated Galoni. “Tony is a seasoned solutions-based leader having held senior technical positions within the marine, power, nuclear and manufacturing industries over the past 30 years.”
Hamilton graduated from Ireland’s Munster Technological University in 1985 with a level in marine engineering. After shifting to Canada and finishing a Masters in Design and Manufacturing Engineering at McMaster University, he spent 10 years at Siemens AG in Hamilton, Ontario, then worked within the nuclear industry with Atomic Energy of Canada and Kinectrics Inc. He went on to determine the engineering consultancy Sthenos Consulting.
Hamilton’s appointment is part of a company-wide restructure at Thordon Bearings that also sees Michael Skrzypczak named world service & help (GSS) supervisor.
“For greater than 20 years Skrzypczak has been visiting Thordon Bearings as Lloyd’s Register’s Senior Surveyor within the Ontario region so he’s very familiar with our manufacturing, designs and high quality management processes,” mentioned Galoni.

In addition, Danny Caffa has been appointed enterprise development supervisor – Marine (EMEA); and Heiko Pohland enterprise improvement supervisor – Marine (Asia/Pacific).
“I have been working very intently with my senior management group to develop and implement Thordon’s strategic goals built around our core strengths and environmental goals,” said Galoni. “We have made, and can continue to make, appreciable investments in folks and capital equipment to develop our business.”
